Disney’s World of Pandora

by

I got the chance on Sunday of opening weekend to visit the new world of Pandora inside Disney’s Animal Kingdom theme park. There has been a lot of news about Pandora and how amazing it is. There has also been news that it is crazy crowded and will have huge wait times. I went and I survived without really having to wait at all. In this post, I’ll give you my advice, tips, and reviews to visiting the amazing world of Pandora.

Exploring Disney World's Pandora The World of Avatar

Getting into Pandora

We went on opening Sunday in the evening after dinner before dusk. After getting into the Animal Kingdom, we waited 10 minutes to get in the Pandora section. Yes, we had to wait to even enter the section of the park. We had fast passes for the Na’vi River Journey ride, (more…)

DIY Magic Band Decals

by

Whether you are planning your first trip to Walt Disney World or your 100th, you’ve likely seen or heard that Disney uses something called a Magic Band as an all in one source for your park ticket, room key, reservations, photos, fast passes and even a credit card to use on in park purchases. Basically, everything for your vacation is linked on this one little waterproof wristband.

If you book a stay at one of the Walt Disney World resorts your entire party will receive a magic band by mail at least 30 days prior to your vacation. (This is ending in 2021, but you can still purchase MagicBands to use) You can also choose to buy your own magic band and Disney sells many different ones. I now have way too many magic bands. I like to make these personalized magic band decals with my Cricut die cut machine. They add a little personality and then I can tell my bands apart.

Make Your Own Vinyl Decals for Disney Magic Bands Decals with Cricut

The magic bands used for this project were the old style magic band. Around January 2017, Disney updated the magic bands and now uses a different style. UPDATE 2020: This project does work for the new Magic Bands without changing the sizes. You can modify if you want the imagine to be larger.

There are many places you can buy vinyl decals such as Etsy if you do not want to make your own vinyl decals. I love any excuse to use my Cricut, so I make them for myself, friend’s, and family. This is a pretty (more…)

Layered Glitter Monogrammed Water Bottle

How to make a layered glitter vinyl decal for a water bottle

I previously posted how to make a princess monogrammed water bottle. My sister saw my post and wanted her very own water bottle. I decided to change the design and make her a Little Mermaid water bottle with layered glitter vinyl and use a glass water bottle. Glass can easily be used to apply vinyl. They are a wonderful alternative for those wanting to avoid plastic. In this post, I’ll show you how to make your very own layered glitter (more…)

Packing for a RunDisney Trip – Wine & Dine Half Marathon Weekend

by

Wine & Dine Half Marathon Weekend is almost here! Everything is booked, the trip planning is complete, the race outfit is ready to go, my training is almost over. It’s time to start planning what I will pack. When it comes to packing, I either over pack by a substantial amount or I under pack by a substantial amount. I stress over every item I put in my bag and have nightmares that I forgot half of it. This stress is even worse when it comes to any of my Disney vacations. Packing for RunDisney events is no different. * This post may contain affiliate links, if you make a purchase after clicking these links we will be compensated.

What To Pack For A RunDisney Weekend

Packing for Wine & Dine Half Marathon Weekend

My packing list is quite extensive, as I plan to have everything I could possibly need and then some. We are also staying at Disney from Thursday to Monday afternoon, so my list may be longer than you will need. I am flying Southwest with free checked bags. We use the Disney Magical Express. With this transportation service, Disney will deliver my bags to our hotel. This time around we will be staying at All Star Movies.

Every item you need to purchase upon arrival will cost you possibly triple the cost extra. For any Disney vacation, a packing list is essential. I have included in this list what I will be (more…)

Disney Dapper Day Outfit – Minnie Mouse Inspired

by

It was swell day that April afternoon when we went to Walt Disney World. Dapper Day is according to it’s creators website, “fashionable gatherings attended by over 30,000 well-dressed guests twice a year at the Disney Resorts in California, Florida, and France”. Most people and even avid Disney fans aren’t aware of Dapper Day. In my opinion, it’s is like stepping back in time at Disney. Where dapper men and women mix a Disney character and a time period and attend the parks all dolled up looking straight out of 1960 or whatever era they choose. This April I attended Dapper Day and finding the right outfit was a bit of a challenge. **This post contains affiliate links, if you make a purchase after clicking on those links we will be compensated. All opinions are our own**

Go back in time with your favorite vintage outfit for Dapper Day at Disney World
My love of polka dots led me straight to creating my version of Minnie Mouse.

My first destination was *Mod Cloth. They have so many retro vintage look items. I wanted something 50s or 60s and after a little searching I found the perfect pink polka dot dress ON SALE. It had every element I was looking for. The petticoat I purchased t to go under it was also from Mod Cloth. I did order slightly off and messed up the delivery time and the sizing just little. On the Road to RunDisney

by

I am so excited to announce The Pike’s Place will be running at the Walt Disney World Wine & Dine Marathon Weekend this fall. This will be my first 10k and I have just started training. One of the many wonderful things about running a Disney event is the training courses offered online. Anyone can visit the RunDisney website and download the program, even if you aren’t doing a race! The Wine & Dine 10k training program is an 18 week course designed by Olympic athlete Jeff Galloway for Disney. It comes complete with a schedule and guide on how to train for any level runner. Technically, I should have started my training last week, but we were on our fantastic honeymoon. I started training this week instead.

You can follow along here or on our Instagram page as I train for the race. Keep an eye out for more race updates, a few DIY projects and of course a complete coverage of race weekend come November! Remember to keep going.
